FAQ

Questions

Are the animal icons illustrations or simple icons?

They are simple icons. Each animal is a few even strokes on the 24 px grid, with open shapes, so it reads at 16 px. A fox and a dog still look different. They sit next to interface icons and look like they belong. For big, detailed pictures you would still want an illustrator.

Do the icons include habitats and tracks?

Yes. The animals set covers habitats and tracks. It also covers mammals, birds, fish, insects and reptiles. They suit wildlife guides, nature apps and lessons. A habitat icon can label a filter or a map layer. Tracks work well in field guides and quiz screens.

What if I cannot find the icon I need?

Try another word first. Search looks at names, synonyms and tags across the whole library. If the icon is still missing, ask for it on the contact page. Tell us the word you searched and where you want to use it. We add icons every month, and requests help us pick what to draw next.

Can I use animal icons in a commercial project?

Yes, in the free styles. Regular Rounded, Regular Sharp and Solid are open source under MIT, so you can use them in a pet care app, in client work and in products you sell. The other twelve styles are Pro, a subscription with its own terms. Keep the copyright notice with copies of the files.

How do I find the right animal icon?

Open the icon browser and search for dog, bird or insect. Search checks names, synonyms and tags, so a related word usually finds the same icon. Use the animals category to limit results to this field. Only approved icons appear, and we add more every month.
